A compass defines true north. No matter how skilled or unskilled you are at determining your direction, your compass will show the way.

Everybody has a compass
Everybody follows a guide. Maybe you subscribe to everything Joe Rogan or Dave Ramsey or J.K. Rowling says. Maybe you rely on the Dow Jones averages or your horoscope. Maybe you practice everything your dad taught you or with every ounce of your energy you don’t want to be like your mom. Maybe your dream is to work your way to the top of the company or work as a full-time stay-at-home mom.
These are all designs for a life compass.
But none of them can take you to a destination that fully delivers you from all your problems. Only one destination does that: God’s truth.
Don’t use the wrong compass, or you’ll head the wrong direction, take wrong turns, and get lost.
The right compass is the Bible. And not only does it promise you eternal life in heaven without any problems, but it promises you a life right now where your problems aren’t in charge.
Life with God means you are always delivered (Bible word “salvation”) from all your problems, from your guilt, from a shameful past and your worries about the future, from circumstances you can’t control.
God’s compass, the Bible, is “able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3:15). The Bible does much more than change your problems. It changes you. It makes you someone different, someone who is “wise for salvation.”
While on the journey, you know that you are always delivered and always free, because you believe in the Savior promised in the Bible: Jesus Christ.
PRAYER: Dear Jesus, I’m on a journey and pray for your truth to be my destination. Keep me from taking wrong turns, that my faith may not fail. Lead me by your mercy and your might, and help me show others your way. Amen.
FURTHER MEDITATION: Memorize this Scripture. Write it on post-it notes. Put it on your home screen: “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long” (Psalm 25:4,5).
