Me on Your Mind

Pastor DaronCrossLife Blog

“I was thinking of you.” Who has spoken those endearing words to you? Hopefully, a number of people, especially loved ones. And your boss—in a good way.

Better than all those, God has been thinking of you. For a long, long time. The endearing words for all who believe in Jesus Christ tell us that God “chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.”

When you choose someone, you are thinking of them. Actually, you have to think of them before you choose them. God did both. For you. Before he created the massive oceans and majestic mountains and the angels that now fill heaven and earth. He had you on his mind.

“In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will” (Ephesians 1:4,5). Before you first believed, setting in motion your destiny as a child of God headed to heaven, your destiny was already set in motion by God’s “predestined” pleasure, will, love and plan. He had you on his mind.

Even believers can struggle with God’s faithfulness. Troubling times tempt us to doubt God’s love. Limited understanding doesn’t see his grace. We don’t always have God on our minds.

We need reassurance and this is it. God had you on his mind, has you on his mind now, and will always have you on his mind into heavenly eternity.

Christian artist Matthew West sings a song called “Me on Your Mind.” https://youtu.be/BiUixue9cfs?si=GsSIjaNgYx_LHXd6

Just knowing You’re mindful of me

Just knowing You call me Your child

It’s flooding my soul with unspeakable hope

Thank You, Lord, that it’s me on Your mind

Who am I that the King of the world

Would give one single thought about my broken heart?

Who am I that the God of all grace

Wipes the tears from my face and says, “Come as you are?”

You paid the price, You took the cross

You gave Your life and You did it all with me on Your mind

Thank You, Jesus Hallelujah

Lord, it was me on Your mind

PRAYER: Thank you, Lord, that I’m on your mind. Who am I that you thought of me before the world began, before time, before the mountains and oceans? You thought of me, you chose me and you planned my salvation. Now, I pray, be on my mind. Amen.
