Before-and-after pictures can demonstrate an incredible amount of work on a project or a person. What would your spiritual before-and-after pictures reveal? God already knows!

Notes And Next Steps

Ephesians 2:1-10 + Part 2 of the series “Masterpiece in Progress: Ephesians"

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8,9).

God promises this—none of those “bad day” feelings are truth.

There’s an old Hebrew word that is strikingly related to the word for mercy, and the Hebrew word is rechem which means “womb.”

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).

God saved you not only “from” something but “for” something.

    1. Depending on the age of your kids, talk to them about birth and compare it to our spiritual birth that is God’s work, and ours not by work but by faith. Be sure to include baptism in the discussion.
    2. When is it appropriate for a Christian to boast? Do a Bible word search and look at some helpful verses, especially Galatians 6:14.
    3. Who needs you to show them a bit more mercy this week? Remember them in prayer this week.
    4. Take a look at the Pflugerville Pregnancy Resource Center Rejoice in their work. Get involved as a volunteer.
