Notes And Next Steps

Luke 15:1-7  + Part 1 of the series “Starting Point For Our Mission Ahead"

Home Depot is on their mission. They connect people to life’s needs.

But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” (Luke 15:2)

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?” (Luke 15:4)

Here is Jesus’ mission statement: “to seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)
1. Jesus doesn’t wait for you to come to him.
2. Jesus doesn’t expect you to accumulate all kinds of good work to make up for your sins.

Here is the mission Jesus gave to his disciples: “go and make disciples.” (Matthew 28:19)

“When he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’” (Luke 15:5,6)
