FACT CHECK THE FUTURE JESUS

Will people get vaccinated for COVID in the future? Will they be microchipped and followed? Will Bill Gates implement the mark of the beast as an enemy of God? Let’s do some fact checking, and while we’re at it, let’s fact check the future Jesus.

Notes And Next Steps

Luke 24:17-27 + Part 7 of the series “In Defense Of Jesus"

Let’s fact check Jesus!

  • The Messiah will suffer—being disfigured in the process—because of the people’s sin (Isaiah 52:13-53:12; Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, John 19)
  • He will come riding on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9; Matthew 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:28-40, John 12:12-19)
  • He will be a priest to the people (Psalm 110:4, Zechariah 3; Hebrews 4:14-5:10)
  • The Messiah, though suffered and forsaken, will be delivered from death and bring glory to God (Psalm 22; Luke 24:13-35)
  • The Messiah will go to Egypt before being called back to Israel (Hosea 11:1; Matthew 2:13-15)
  • He will atone for the people’s sins, a fulfillment of the Old Testament sacrificial rites (Leviticus 16; Hebrews 9:22)
  • He would be born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25)
  • His hands and feet will be pierced (Psalm 22:16; John 20:24-29)

They had placed all their hopes in Jesus but he let them down.

“How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?”And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. (Luke 24:25-27)

“Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32)
