When do you take down your Christmas decorations? This might just convince you to never take them down again.

Notes And Next Steps

John 18:3-12 + Part 1 of the series “The Greatest Name"

When do you want Jesus with you?

Christmas wasn’t glorious and cozy.

A true Savior is more than a man, he is God. A true Savior is more than God, he is a man.

“must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and … must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.” (Luke 9:22)

“The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14)

“Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?” Then the detachment of soldiers … arrested Jesus. They bound him. (John 18:11,12)

Discussion Questions

  1. Say “Jesus is God.” Say “…And he is here.” Now, remember those words this week, and repeat them when you face your problems, difficult people, and even your own disappointments. How has that gone since Sunday? How does it change your perspective?
  2. Search for a Christmas song with the name “Immanuel” and play it a few times this week. Share it with others and when they ask why you’re playing Christmas music, ask them, “When do you want Jesus to be with you?” He is “God With Us.”
  3. Read John 18:3-12. List as many occurrences as you can that demonstrate Jesus is God. If you have time, read the rest of John 18 and also 19, and add to the list.
  4. Google “God is here time of grace talks,” and click on GOD is Here! - Time of Grace for a series of short videos that will encourage you. Share them!
