Jesus liked kids. Loving and kind, he welcomed them and their families with open arms. Jesus wants all of us, especially dads, to like kids, too. More than that, to be like kids ourselves.
Notes And Next Steps
Mark 10:13-16 + Part 2 of the series “Staycation: Living Life on Mission"
Kids can be an interruption, but interruptions are opportunities.
People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these” (Mark 10:13,14).
Does God like you?
Like kids, and be a blessing.
“Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it” (Mark 10:15).
Believe like kids, and be blessed.
“Be a man, bruh!”
SPIRITUAL NEXT STEPS
- Share with your family a few stories about your kids interrupting mom or dad. Be honest about feelings of frustration, ask for forgiveness, talk about expectations. Review the love and kindness of Jesus that turns interruptions into opportunities. Pray about it as a family.
- Find today’s CrossKidz Connection children’s message video at http://crosslifepf.org/crosskidz-connection/. Watch it with your kids. Ask them more about it. Review their Message Notes from Sunday, and ask them more about those, too.
- What messages does society promote about being a real man. How is the Bible’s version better? If you’re a man or a dad, write a personal mission statement about how you want to fulfill your calling.
