SLOW JESUS

The pace of their walking decreased even more as these two disciples of Jesus listened to him explain his death and resurrection. He slowed down with them. For them. As he does for you. Don’t speed past him!

Notes and Next Steps
Luke 24:13-29 + Part 7 of the series "Jesus Gives Us Joy"

Some things in life we don’t enjoy because they’re too slow for us, until we realize that the slowness blessed us in ways that speeding along never could.

“But we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning but didn’t find his body.” (Luke 24:21-23)

As slow as you need, Jesus slows down.

“How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” (Luke 24:25,26)

With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:8,9)

My times are in your hands. (Psalm 31:15)

Meditation is the middle ground between Bible reading and prayer.

Mercy is the middle ground between sinners and God.
