Solomon asked for wisdom, and God gave it to him, but that wasn’t the end game. It was just the beginning. God sees wisdom more in those who seek it than those who say they have it. And Solomon learned the hard way.

Notes And Next Steps

1 Kings 3:1-15  +  Message 8 from the series “Dreamer”

King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth. All the kings of the earth sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart. (2 Chronicles 9:22,23)

As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God. (1 Kings 11:4)

 Fearing the Lord means …

  1. Develop a strategy for improved personal Bible reading and meditation. Would you benefit from better quality of study? Or more quantity? Recall the massive amount of reading you can accomplish with only 15 minutes per day. Build a routine time and place to do this with a goal of at least 5 times this week.
  2. Search your Bible app for the word “wisdom” in the book of Proverbs. Study and pray over each verse that comes up.
  3. Memorize your 2019 goal for Bible knowledge and share it with at least one friend.
  4. Choose a life verse(s) for 2019.
