God does not call us to do something safe or comfortable. Faith responds to the call of God and takes risks. Then we learn that God can come through. And God can do what we can’t do on our own.

Notes And Next Steps

John 20:19-23  + Part 3 of the series “Victorious!"

Believing in Jesus totally means being saved, but absolutely does not mean being safe from discomfort, pain, risk or trouble.

When the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. (John 20:19,20)

Jesus stands with you. Jesus says, “Peace.” Jesus saves.

“As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” (John 20:21-23)

Jesus is sending you. God the Holy Spirit fills you. Sins are forgiven.
