THIS CHURCH IS FOR NOBODIES

What does it take to be somebody at this church? It takes being a nobody.

Notes and Next Steps
Deuteronomy 14:1, 28-29 + Part 8 of the series "God Loves Nobodies"

What does it take to be somebody at this church? It takes being a nobody.

Isolation is a top trick of the enemy to break people down and force them to give up and give in.

Jesus was crucified by a church that considered him so radically forgiving and loving that he couldn’t be God.

“Unclean!”

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man … “Be clean!” (Mark 1:41)!

You are the children of the Lord your God … At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns. (Deuteronomy 14:1,28)

So that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. (Deuteronomy 14:29)

SPIRITUAL NEXT STEP

What new and improved thing can you do—immediately after the service today—to “touch” another nobody with Jesus’ help and love? Make a commitment to do this every Sunday.

  3. Read the chapter in the book, God Loves Nobodies, called “Loving Nobodies,” starting on p. 144. What did you learn from Rahab or the spies as a fresh approach to those considered nobodies?
