Did you see or hear the US Air Force Thunderbirds fly over Austin this past week? Some missed it. How can we be sure we don’t miss the second coming of Jesus Christ?

Notes And Next Steps

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 + Part 3 of the series “Tomorrowland"

This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back. (Acts 1:11)

“What will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” (Matthew 24:3)

“are the beginning of birth pains” (Matthew 24:8)

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. (1 Thessalonians 4:13,14)

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17)

We are getting closer to each other.

    1. Things are not what they seem.
    2. Persecution and peace in 1 and 2 Thessalonians:
      - Christian pain always has a purpose
      - Persecution proves faith.
      - God, not evil, has the final word.
      - Suffer with someone.
      - Be strong in the Lord.
      - God will make it right.
    3. The Ascension of Jesus Christ makes our world church-centric, not the church world-centric. Ephesians 1:20-23.
