Notes And Next Steps
1 John 4:7-12 + Part 5 of the series “Family Vacation"
Sometimes love seems like a good idea, but then becomes something totally different.
Love is messy because your own heart wants something from love that doesn’t exist in it one bit. Selfishness.
Let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God. (1 John 4:7,8)
If we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:12)
God’s love fills you; there’s nothing missing in your ability and desire to love, because God loves you.
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (1 John 4:9,10)
Words of affirmation. Quality time. Gift giving. Acts of service. Physical touch.
