Cara and I have started watching a series called The Chosen. It follows the life and ministry of Jesus. And it does so in ways we have not experienced before.
We really love it, and are being drawn into the story. The most compelling factor is how the series develops the characters of those around Jesus—mostly his disciples. I find myself understanding and loving Jesus in news ways because I see him through their eyes.
My memory verse for the week is the first recorded preaching of Jesus in Mark 1:15, “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Do you want the kingdom of God to operate in you and through you? Do you want to enjoy Jesus and his work in your life? Do you want to believe more frequently and fervently in the good news of the gospel?
Try watching The Chosen and see what happens. Here is a trailer https://youtu.be/X-AJdKty74M.
Cara and I are watching the recorded livestream broadcasts on YouTube. They include the director of the series giving background and inspiring stories, which I particularly enjoy. But you can skip them if you want. Here is the first episode https://youtu.be/Vyv1W-hsmx8.
PRAYER: Dear Jesus, your kingdom is not confined to heaven, but you brought it here as the King of my salvation and my soul. I believe in you, Jesus. I repent of my sins, and trust that you are good. Be near me now and forever. Amen.
FURTHER MEDITATION: If you watch the series, why do you think it is called “The Chosen?”
