What If God Wins?

You do want to win, don’t you? So how? How do you win?

How do you win the dating game and finally find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with?

How do you win making the right decision every time?

How do you win the financial hardships and inflation challenges we’re facing, and still worship God with joyful, generous giving?

How do you win in the mental health battle you’re facing?

How do you win with your spouse? Your kids?

How do you win the search for the right church?

Here’s how you win: you want God to win. The only weapon that works in this war is the fear of the Lord. Surrender your thoughts and desires, purposes and plans to your Savior and Creator.

It’s the one place in war where surrender is victory.

And what if God wins? Here’s what happens if he wins. When he wins. Because he wins. And he wins for you!

 Death is defeated forever.

Fear gives way to faith.

Harsh words become humble repentance.

Love leads the way.

Miracles happen and marriage works.

New believers are welcomed.

Praises erupt spontaneously.

Prayers are always answered perfectly.

Sinners find mercy.

Sickness and pain are healed or helped by God’s power.

Worship is less about others and more about Jesus.

And victory now is nothing compared to the eternal victory for all believers in heaven.

God is good!

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).

PRAYER: God, why do I worry so much about what I might lose, or what I have lost, when I have you. You’ve won so much for me. You always win. I need to celebrate more, God. To celebrate you. Us. Our victory! Amen.

FURTHER MEDITATION: Practice replacing your “what if” kind of questions that cause you to worry, complain or feel overwhelmed. Replace them with “what if God” questions. Focus on his character, his promises, and his saving works. Focus on what you know to be true, and believe it.
