Do you know what the word “Amen” means?
It refers to a truth to be believed. Imagine thrusting your fist in the air and saying confidently, “Yes!”
This is our response to God’s faithfulness in keeping his promises to save, provide, make good, and deliver from all evil into eternity.
“Faithful you are. Faithful forever you will be.”
More than facts, God’s true promises call us to faith. They produce a response.
“Giver of mercy. Lord, I can’t help but sing.
Even as we rejoice, we rest from anxiety, fear and trying to control the world around us.
“I will rest in your promises. My confidence is your faithfulness.”
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

PRAYER: What confidence you give to me, God, by the confidence you have in your own Word! I need that confidence today, so that I can better glorify you, and ask for it in Jesus’ name. Amen.
FURTHER MEDITATION: Read 2 Corinthians 1:20-22. I see at least 8 words or phrases in that small section of God’s Word that declare how certain and confident we can be about anything God says. See them?
