A KING MEETS the KING

Jesus is the King of all other kings, and everything that has power.

Notes And Next Steps

John 18:33-40 + Part 5 of the series “The Greatest Name"

“God looks upon kings as children look upon playing cards.” (Martin Luther)

… far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. (Ephesians 1:21)

Jesus will not now, nor will he ever, allow any wicked ruler or weak believer to take his throne.

“Are you the king of the Jews?” (John 18:33)

“Is that your own idea, or did others talk to you about me?” (John 18:34)

“My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.” (John 18:36)

“You are a king, then!” said Pilate.

“You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” (John 18:37)

All kings lose their kingdom, except THE King Jesus. So don’t be your own king.

Spiritual Next Step

Which is more dangerous? The corruption, injustice and godless maneuvering of earthly powers and rulers? Or your personal desire to be your own king?
