Will the Rapture Really Happen? When?

Will the rapture really happen? If so, when will it take place and what should we expect?

Christians refer to “the rapture” as an epic encounter triggered by a salvation event related to heaven or Judgment Day. Multiple schools of thought exist.

The Bible says, “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever” (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17).

Read this short, clear, Bible-based explanation by theologian Chad Bird. See the post here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/167juWGu3v/?mibextid=wwXIfr

It explains from the Bible this order of events for the rapture.

  1. Christ descends from heaven publicly and loudly (this is no secret “rapture” since trumpets are blasting!).
  2. Those already dead are resurrected first.
  3. We who are alive will join those just resurrected to greet the Kyrios, the King of kings, in the air.
  4. We will always be with the Lord. Where? As Revelation makes clear, in the New Jerusalem, in the new heavens and new earth.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, you take care of everything for my spiritual good, including the end times, Judgment Day and the rapture. You preside over these things like the ultimate superintendent who ensures everything takes place according to your plan. I am glad it’s not up to me! But it does include me. Thank you. Amen.
